Colorado is the most beautiful state in the nation because of its natural beauty. This is not something we can take for granted and we need bold leaders at the Capitol who understand that drought, wildfire, and climate change are threats to outdoor recreation opportunities, the agricultural industry, and our livelihoods.
As chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, I am a tireless fighter for the natural resources that drive our rural and mountain economies. I have supported efforts that have made Colorado a national leader in combating climate change, protecting our environment, and helping communities facing economic transition. I have written and passed groundbreaking legislation to invest historic amounts into water conservation projects and to ensure that Colorado has a strong voice in inter-state negotiations regarding water use.
Finally, you can count on me to be a vigorous defender of our public lands. I will do everything possible to preserve and protect our state’s most beautiful environments.
