Western Slope residents pay the healthcare highest premiums in the state and this needs to change. Our state must continue to act to help the residents of this district and all Coloradans have access to affordable health care. We have made significant progress over the last few years to lower health insurance costs, reduce the price of prescription drugs, and help local health care co-ops get up and running. However, I will continue to make affordable healthcare my priority until every Coloradan and every small business have access to high-quality, affordable health care coverage.
Further, behavioral and mental health care is of the utmost importance to our region and our state. I will continue to advocate for the expansion of mental health resources in our rural communities and pass needed reforms so that our mental health funds are spent properly and efficiently.
